Job description
Jackson County Medical Care Facility is a 194-bed, Eden Alternative certified home where residents, family members, and Care Partners are actively involved in their care decisions and lifestyle choices, creating a supportive home environment. Our quality of care is one of the highest in the nation as evidenced by winning of a National Quality Award for nursing home care given by the American Health Care Association. We are currently looking for a Respiratory Therapist that is interested in working Full-time variable.
Responsibilities (in part):
- Provide comprehensive documentation in the Elders' medical record that is reflective of their clinical progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Report issues to the Charge Nurse which require follow up with physicians and maintain continuous open communication for optimum coordination of care.
- Able to administer appropriate therapies according to physician orders and department standards and protocols. Includes MDIs, NMTs, CPT, incentive spirometry, bland aerosol, sets up and maintains various monitoring devices.
- Perform routine Respiratory Therapy equipment maintenance, cleaning and ensure environmental safety.
- Respond to emergency situations (Code Blue situations), provide airway management and CPR.
