Overview:
We are looking for an outgoing, dedicated individual to join our team as a field service representative. The responsibilities of the field service representative include undertaking customer support tasks, completing on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and tests, and ensuring proper task management so that all work progresses according to the schedule.
To be a successful field service representative, you should have excellent problem-solving and time management skills. Ultimately, a top-notch field service representative should have strong leadership, sales, service, and marketing skills.
Description:
- Provide on-site technical support and perform customer support tasks.
- Deliver, install, repair, maintain, and test equipment.
- Resolve operational issues in the field.
- Identify any issues and perform troubleshooting procedures.
- Determine customer needs and offer recommendations.
- Collaboration with colleagues and sharing information to ensure top-notch customer support.
- Manage work progress and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Track and document work progress and writing service reports.
- Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Perform Total Package Fielding (TPF) functions IAW AR and DA PAM 700-142 with the gaining unit/organization in CONUS/OCONUS at unit home stations, TDY locations, and/or during field missions.
- Interface directly with Government customers as the primary technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on any related matter.
- Perform joint system check out of each system installation prior to issue.
- Conduct technical analysis for system implementations, modifications, and potential enhancements.
- Perform de-installations, installations, and handoffs for specified systems.
- Troubleshoot system problems and/or integration issues, determine system solution in accordance with customer needs, and recommend actions to customer for system solutions.
- Perform engineering assessments of new equipment and software upgrades for integration into required systems.
- Develop and improve operations processes/practices for each location based on best practices across the program and through peer and management collaboration.
- Configure virtual network devices (routers, switches, firewall, performance enhancement), LAN, WAN, encryption devices. Perform hardware and software integration, installation, and test. Requires knowledge and experience with software/application virtualization (VMWare ESXi)
- Participate in review, or update of contract deliverable documents (CDRL).
- Troubleshoot system or component problems experienced /reported from Army field units or team field service representatives (FSR).
- Recommend improved methods, processes related to team products or service, to improve quality or increase performance efficiency.
Education:
The minimum level of education required is: Bachelor's
Desired Requirements:
- 3-5+ years as systems or network technician;5+ years working DOD/Army networks
- DOD IAT Level II (CCNA, CCNP)
- Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
- Proficiency with VMWare ESXi
- Experience with Systems/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with Army tactical communications systems (WIN-T Inc1, Inc2, NITE, baseband, transport, switches, routers, servers, Ethernet and fiber optic standards, Network Modernization systems and commercial wireless products used by Army tactical systems)
- Previous experience as a field service representative or in a related service role
- Strong working knowledge of the relevant technical equipment.
- Experience with mobile tools and applications.
- Quick learner, creative, analytical thinker, resourceful, and able to work with a team or independently.
- Must have a U.S. Passport.
