Description
We are currently seeking a Process Engineer for our Cleveland facility. At CORMETECH our Engineers have a passion for innovation to meet our clients’ needs. The Process Engineer will troubleshoot and lead support efforts and will work closely with various teams to enhance safety and processes into manufacturing.
Summary:
This position will support day to day technical needs of the Heat Treat, Cutting and Assembly Departments for Coal and Gas to achieve plant production goals through continuous improvement, process monitoring, troubleshooting, training, documentation, adherence to SOP’s / WI’s; and collaborates with coworkers to ensure all Cormetech safety standards and policies are followed. Leads support efforts and validates new equipment, products and processes into manufacturing. Participates in maintaining effective Cormetech Quality Systems and ensure compliance to ISO9001:2008.
Essential Duties:
- Lead cost reduction efforts in module assembly/steel frames with respect to supplier process changes, modifications to structural designs, raw materials substitution, and elimination of process steps.
- Ensure manufacturing SOP’s are accurate and reflect current operational methods.
- Supervision of Heat Treat and Finishing Technicians.
- Perform or lead process investigations and document findings.
- Develop design and modification packages for plant equipment, including design drawings, engineering specifications, calculations, tabulations, requisitions, bills of materials, test documents, procurement specifications, etc.
- Develop, coordinate and summarize experimental plans.
- Provide technical guidance to process technicians, maintenance associates, operations associates and supervisors in the form of troubleshooting and training.
- Coordinate and implement product/process changes originating from new products and raw material improvements.
- Interact with various departments including operations, maintenance, quality, sales and development engineering.
- Support operations/facility during off hours if required for process emergencies and technical support.

Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in engineering or related science field.
- Proficiency in interpreting and revising mechanical/structural drawings. - CAD.
- Machining, Welding, Tooling and Steel Fabrication process knowledge is preferred.
- 7 + years process engineering or manufacturing experience, along with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations to communicate the status, problem resolution, recommendations of work/projects to appropriate internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independent of direct supervision.
- Some statistical and process control background preferred.
KEY DECISION AREAS:
- Process control, improvement and product quality.
- Management of cost reduction and productivity improvement projects.
- Personnel performance and development reviews along with compensation recommendations.
Working Conditions:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing stairs/ladders. The employee must be able to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds.
