GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Accounting Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities and functions of the organization.
Essential Functions: Responsible for and support financial functions and activities including but not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and forecasts
- General accounting – Manage general accounting function including monthly close, credit, and collections, accounts payable, reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, inventory and reserves, warranty reserves, vacation accruals, bonus, and payroll related reserves, and other liabilities
- Cost accounting
- Payroll accounting (ensure payroll, payroll, accruals, and associated withholdings are correctly recorded)
- Budget analysis and control
- Maintain strong internal controls and prepares semi-annual internal controls reports
- Prepare annual property tax information for an external tax consultant
- Assist with preparation of federal income tax return information for headquarter tax department
- Support operations and sales personnel with costing, quoting, and business systems issues
- Work closely with Information Systems ERP administrator to respond to accounting-related to accounting related system issues
- Interact with the General Manager and the Leadership team as well other various company personnel to maintain corporate compliance and internal controls
- Participate in developing accounting positions for operational decisions
- Responsible for management and professional development of Accounting Support staff
- Perform other financial accounting tasks as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including job costing and inventory
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Solid knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access; working with pivot tables and connected data
- Ability to be flexible with schedule to meet deadlines and departmental goals
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth high growth industry; willing to be hands-on and take initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals on a global level and with all levels of management
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality, timely work
- Must be able to work individually and in a team
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
- Minimal travel may be required
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5 years of accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements
Manufacturing Experience Preferred
