Job description

The Department of Medicine's Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative, and Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for an open track, open rank position within our Section of Geriatrics. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications. The selected candidate will develop a clinical practice that includes caring for older adults in ambulatory primary care and consultative clinics. Inpatient responsibilities and opportunities, as well as other geriatric clinical duties, may also be considered, in accordance with the successful candidate’s interests. This faculty member is expected to have a leadership role in the Section’s educational endeavors, including developing and maintaining innovative curricula for medical students, residents, and fellows in both didactic and clinical sessions.

Job candidates for position must be an MD and board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Eligibility or certification (certificate of added qualifications) in Geriatrics is also required. Candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience in academic geriatrics are strongly preferred.
