Position Overview

These positions will support the LEAPES summer camp at KU for rising high school juniors and seniors. These camps are designed to provide hand on experiences in Math, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering and Robotics. Camp Sessions are June 2-7, June 9-14, and June 16-28. Resident assistants must be available for the duration of camp sessions and the position requires overnights in the dorms during the camp sessions. Sunday evening to Friday morning. Lodging and full meal plan is included. Students are not required to be present at the dorms during the day- 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Job Description

Resident Assistants will be the onsite contact for the students in the dorm to ensure the safety and well-being of the campers. Responsibilities include: Serve as a mentor for the campers and conduct bed checks, be on call overnight to respond to any complaints, reports, requests, and emergencies.

Required Qualifications

• Resident assistants must be available for the duration of camp sessions and require overnights in the dorms during the camp sessions.
• KU Student must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester during the academic year. Enrollment of one (1) hour during the summer session is required if the student was not enrolled in the previous spring or is not pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall term.

Preferred Qualifications

• Student enrolled in STEM or education
