Job description

Nel's Bi Lo Market in Pocatello, ID is looking for one meat department service professional to join our 18 person strong team. We are located on 333 N. 15th. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged. Previous experience is preferred but we would be willing to train the right person for the position.

Responsibilities

• Cutting & packaging meat for our store.
• Custom cutting beef and wild game.
• Interfacing with customers at the meat counter, and upselling products.
• Answering phone calls sent to the meat department.
• Organizing and leading the team in the meat department.
• Helping create and implement promotions to increase sales.
• Help clean and sanitize the department.
• Work well with other team members and accept needed direction

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a meat department or as a meat cutter is preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50-90lbs at a time
• Willing to work 30-40 hours/week. Always have Sundays and major holidays off
• Must have a strong sense of customer service.
• Should have experience using a knife, and feel comfortable doing so.
• Have a ServSafe certification or is willing to obtain one at the cost of the company.
• Must be a team player with a desire to work.

Compensation depends on experience and performance during the training period. During the 2-6 week initial training period there will be a reduced wage because we believe you should earn what your able to produce. We look forward to receiving your application.
