We’re looking for a Senior Proposal Writer to join our dynamic team in our Orlando office. Home to world-class theme parks, shopping, dining, and nightlife, as well as an unexpected arts and culture scene, Orlando is just an hour from beautiful Atlantic beaches, bustling cruise ports, and rocket launches on the East Coast and less than two hours from Tampa/St. Pete and the Gulf beaches.
The Senior Proposal Writer functions collaboratively and independently as a fully competent professional communicator in all aspects of pursuit planning, proposal production, marketing materials development, and persuasive presentations for public and private clients. Experience with highly technical, highly complex proposals is a must, ideally in the AEC industry.
This position is open to working remotely from any location Nationwide.
Our ideal candidate has experience in professional services and construction proposals and is a team player skilled at working with technical professionals, managers, executives, graphic designers and other marketing support staff. S/he assists with developing and implementing effective pursuit strategies and both leads and manages the design and development of proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, collateral materials, and other marketing deliverables that exemplify visual storytelling and persuasive writing. S/he applies best practices that result in outstanding work products and differentiate the firm from competitors with the desired audience. To be successful in this role, you must work across boundaries and value team success. S/he is both creative and organized and possesses strategic thinking, project management, writing, and page layout skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proposals and Presentations – Plans, organizes, and directs all elements of preparing benefits-oriented proposals and persuasive presentations. This involves analyzing and fully understanding the requirements of the RFP/RFQ and evaluation criteria, understanding the target audience, leading meetings and rehearsals, making task assignments, ensuring schedule adherence, compiling/editing content from a variety of sources, coordinating with the technical team and external consultants and completing required forms. Provides original writing for proposals and presentations including cover letters, resume sections and other non-technical components and conceptualizes storyboards and layouts consistent with brand guidelines. Provides presentation coaching and leads presentation rehearsals. Proofreads and edits for grammar and overall accuracy as well as compliance with requirements and AP Style guidelines. Coordinates reviews, approvals and production of response documents.
- Capture Planning Process – Working with the Business Unit Leader, Marketing Leader, Capture Manager and others, contributes to the strategy development for pursuits, participates in pre-proposal activities such as capture plans, research, client/competitor analysis, and incorporates win themes into response materials.
- Data Maintenance – Develops, prepares, and updates/maintains non-opportunity specific qualifications and reference materials for assigned market(s) in the Deltek (VantagePoint) database. Also works with technical staff to capture and develop performance proofs and client testimonials. Provides input to improve the process for information capture.
- Research and Analysis – Supports Business Unit Leaders and Capture Managers in conducting client, competitor and market research, as required, in support of client and/or opportunity strategy development and provides corresponding analysis.
- Marketing Collateral – Leads the development and maintenance of a variety of collateral materials by interacting regularly with technical personnel (e.g. tailors content to align with target audience, conducts interviews with subject matter experts, collaborates with graphics team, etc.).
- Quality – Ensures that quality standards are adhered to in all work products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in planning, preparation, and development of architectural and engineering proposals and qualifications packages for government clients and Federal markets
- Familiarity with AEC industry operations, policies and business development procedures and Standard Form 330
- Familiarity with regional and local proposal submission requirements
- Expert written and oral communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to ensure completeness and quality.
- Constantly demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple schedules and deadlines and consistently strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe In-Design and Creative Suite applications. Excellent Internet usage and on-line research skills. Ability to learn and adapt to other applications and interfaces, such as Deltek/VantagePoint, Open Asset, etc.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships. Ability to interact professionally and comfortably with a variety of personalities and communication styles.
- Strong project management skills
