Onsite in Charlotte or Detroit - Hybrid model 3 days a week. ** SQL Server DBA II; ** All aspects of SQL Server Database administration; ** AWS RDS knowledge; ** Database migration (preferably from On-premises to RDS). **Must have excellent communication skills and work well independently self-motivated but also able to work collaboratively. ** Video conference interview. Provide location on resume or candidate justification along with interview time preference if known.
Description:
Support on all the stages of database Architecture, Implementation and/or database (RDS/on-premises) related operational support.
Principle Accountabilities: Provide support on all the stages of database implementation and/or database related deployments. Act as point of contact and SQL Server technical resource for application/business partners. Installation of new SQL Server instances and upgrades. Migrate Instances/Databases from one machine to other. Run diagnostic tools to identify database performance bottlenecks, and take appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance. Work with development teams to tune SQL queries. Troubleshoot SQL Server performance and non-performance related issues either independently or in conjunction with other DBAs. Provide solutions to development teams when proposed solutions do not comply with architectural, configuration, performance, or security guidelines. Manage backup/recovery for SQL Server instances. Management of database and resource capacity planning. Implement and enforce database security based upon best practice, SOX regulations, and company policies. Provide recommendations for process improvements. Participate in project meetings, as necessary, to understand application and database requirements. Willingness to learn the business and new technology. Provide after hours support as required.
Mandatory SkillsAll aspects of SQL Server Database administration - 3 years or more SQL Server upgrades (in-place & parallel) - 2 years or more AWS RDS knowledge
