The Davidson Laboratory at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to start on September 1st, 2023.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and a record of published research in atmospheric science, hydrometeorology, coastal hazards, and/or related fields with a demonstrated capability for publishing innovative research. They should have strong coding skills (e.g., Fortran, MATLAB, Python, R, and/or other scripting languages) and experience with HPC technologies and/or cloud computing. They should also have demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, work in groups, and create user-friendly documentation.

Successful applicants will have the potential to develop a strong externally funded research program in their discipline and through interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts.

For more than 80 years, the Davidson Laboratory has delivered new knowledge and advanced technologies that support forecasting for extreme weather events, coastal resilience, and marine hydrodynamics. Davidson Laboratory is home to the Urban Ocean Observatory, which hosts state-of-the-art forecasting and flood advisory systems for the New York and New Jersey area.
