We are seeking a full-time-time, Environmental Scientist for our Oakland, CA operations.

The selected candidate will work in the field of environmental site assessments, brownfields, site investigations and remediation activities. Duties will include but not limited to:
• Work on projects of varying size and complexity.
• Multi-media sampling
• Field audits and inspections
• Organize and review data
• Write and support preparation of technical reports
• Support field investigations
• Perform preliminary site assessments, brownfields assessments, site inspections, and/or site investigations on sites with potentially hazardous substances.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional environmental science experience.

• Must have experience in the environmental industry with demonstrated experience conducting site investigations, remedial investigations, and practical field experience performing multi-media sampling including groundwater, soil and soil gas.
• Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, ecological restoration, radiological issues, and/or water resources a plus
• Analytical skills related to qualitative and quantitative data
• Strong technical and non-technical writing
• Information and data analysis
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Manage a heavy workload
• Strong organizational skills.
• Highly motivated
• Work well in a team environment
• Ability to travel
• Proficient with MS Office applications is required

Degree / Certifications
• BS degree in environmental sciences or physical sciences (e.g., geology, biology hydrology, toxicology, health physics).
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus

Work Environment

The work involves both office and field environments. A physical capacity for working outdoors is required. You must be able to:

• Conduct necessary fieldwork in a variety of environments and topography. Terrain may be steep, uneven, rocky, and covered with vegetation.
• Work in outdoor areas during all seasons. Climate ranges from extremely dry to extremely wet and from hot to cold. Rain, snow, wind, or dust may be encountered.
• The work may require the use of protective clothing.
• Excavations using hand tools.
• Carry heavy field equipment (35 to 40 pounds)
• Don personal protective gear as needed.
• This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check. You must maintain a good driving record.

The Salary Range for this position is $66,560 - $83,200, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
