This position is open to Alaska Residents only. 

The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, Division of Corporations, Business & Professional Licensing, is recruiting for a Regulations Specialist 2 located in Juneau!

What you will be doing: 

This position utilizes a high degree of written and oral communication skills to work independently and collaboratively with program managers, the Department of Law, and the Office of the Governor regarding Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED), Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing (CBPL) regulations.

This position reviews, researches, interprets, analyzes, and recommends regulatory and statutory actions across all Division programs, and is responsible for posting public notices, and adopting appropriate regulations and directives to remain in compliance with state and federal standards. This position also acts as a subject matter expert on the division's Publication Team, and assists with public board meetings.

The Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing is located in downtown Juneau on the 9th floor of the State Office Building located at 333 Willoughby Ave. Juneau, AK 99801.

The daily work environment is fast paced and offers many opportunities for professional growth. During the probationary period, working in office is required. Teleworking options are available to suited candidates of successfully complete the probationary period.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in business administration, public administration, and/or knowledge of paralegal, legal, or administrative procedures.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.

If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position. Transcripts can be attached at the time of application or provided at the time of interview.

WORK EXPERIENCE
If using work experience not already documented in your application, also provide the employer name, your job title, dates of employment, and whether full-or part-time.
