Job description
Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. With a 60+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
Marvin Engineering Company, Inc. (MEC) seeks an outstanding, creative marketing thought leader and field expert to join its Sales & Marketing Team as its first Senior Manager of Marketing. The successful candidate in this inaugural role will be a brand marketing professional with an impressive track record of developing and driving innovative and unique initiatives in all aspects of the dynamic aerospace and defense industry. The Senior Manager of Marketing will significantly enhance the market presence of MEC in key areas, such as print, digital and social media by developing a robust strategic plan and comprehensive publicity concepts to greatly enhance the impact of MEC as a leader in the international aerospace and defense industry.
For the successful candidate, this role will highlight your phenomenal people skills, extraordinary management ability, and exemplary creativity and understanding of marketing channels, specifically in the aerospace and defense industry, to deliver breakthrough campaigns to target the appropriate audiences. You will be responsible for building and managing a great team of marketing specialists focused on promoting the extraordinary product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles undertaken at MEC.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
• Plans, organizes, and schedules activities to meet objectives. Ensures that these are well-documented and communicated to the executive and marketing teams.
• Plans and implements marketing strategies to support the business growth objectives.
• Participates in design and presence of global conferences and tradeshows.
• Leads a creative development and design team and provides guidance to the team on marketing-related aspects to significantly ensure web design, development, and content for active promotions and campaigns are stellar and optimize results for the company’s web presence.
• Develops and expands company's web presence through social media, email, web advertising, and other online sources; promotes company brand through these channels.
• Drafts, implements, maintains, and revises online marketing campaigns to drive sales and revenue to the company.
• Communicates with all functional departments to ensure their needs are met with proposal design and product creation and design.
• Actively manages budget preparation for marketing department.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required.
• 7+ years of related experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent creative skills
• Proven ability to plan and implement highly successful marketing campaigns.
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines and effectively manage multiple workstreams.
• Proficient with all relevant software and web design to facilitate outstanding online marketing initiatives.
• Background in Social Media applications
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Position is based at Marvin Engineering’s headquarters office located at 261 West Beach Avenue in Inglewood.
• The position is based 100% in the office. A hybrid work schedule is not available for this job.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel is required for this position at 25% time.
