Senior Accountant - Tax Manager
Location: On-site - Las Vegas, NV
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00

About the Role
Tasked with executing intricate accounting tasks, this role involves assuming a leadership position to direct accounting staff in their daily responsibilities. It entails communicating financial specifics to management, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in financial procedures, records, and statements. Additionally, it involves furnishing precise financial data to the Controller and management, overseeing the preparation, review, and analysis of accounting transactions and month-end close processes. Furthermore, it includes aiding in the preparation of financial reports, tax documents, and other assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to the Controller and Assistant Controller in various accounting tasks as required.
- Conducts daily cash reconciliations and ensures completion of monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintains reconciliations for balance sheet accounts in the general ledger.
- Prepares journal entries for month-end close, encompassing prepaids, accruals, deferred items, amortization, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions, accompanied by supporting documentation.
- Manages accounts receivable and accounts payable relating to general ledger cash transactions.
- Handles the monthly preparation and filing of Sales and Use Tax returns.
- Prepares and submits reports for Business Personal Property Declaration.
- Generates detailed analysis and explanations of accounting transactions.
- Compiles workpapers and documentation for external auditors, including conducting research and participating in projects as assigned.
- Adheres to established accounting processes and procedures within the company.
- Contributes insights and implements changes to enhance existing accounting processes and procedures.
- Assists management in completing ad-hoc projects, as well as month and year-end reports, as required.
- Undertakes special projects assigned by the Executive team.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience, including journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Understanding of GAAP.
- Property and Sales Tax experience is a must.
- Extreme attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, independence, and motivation to complete tasks by the required deadlines.
- Must be proficient in time management and able to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes, including interruptions
- Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship.
- Performs all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel required, including VLOOKUP, Pivot, Data Filters, and Data Extracts/Imports
