Position Summary/Description:

The Office of Academic Affairs in the Adams School of Dentistry ( ASOD ) oversees all educational programs offered at the school, including the professional ( DDS ), dental hygiene (DH), and advanced dental education ( ADE ) programs. Academic Affairs handles admissions, matriculation, performance, and advancement of all students. Academic Affairs ensures high- quality curriculum and outstanding teaching and learning at all levels-undergraduate, professional and graduate-within the ASOD , including compliance with the Commission on Dental Accreditation standards. The office leads a wide variety of programs, including curriculum development and management, clinical education, recruitment, admissions, student affairs, student wellness, and financial aid. The Office of Admissions and Student Life exists within Academic Affairs and, as its name implies, is responsible for recruitment, admissions, orientation, general student life and wellness, and financial aid for the ASOD's DDS students.

This Student Services position involves extensive interaction with prospective Doctor of Dental Surgery ( DDS ) applicants, students, faculty, staff, and several University offices. Duties include substantial support of the DDS program's admissions teams, application and admissions processes, handling student fees and serving as a liaison for financial advising and student drug screening program. The position will work with the University's Office of Scholarships and Student Aid ASOD Financial Affairs, and the Dental Foundation of North Carolina to help manage tuition issues, awards, loans, and academic scholarships.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
