*Valero *is looking for an experienced salesperson to join the *Wholesale Marketing department *to support and expand Valero’s presence in an assigned territory. The Manager Territory Sales will be responsible for maintaining current customer relationships while proactively looking for profit improvement opportunities within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities may also include:

• Develops productive working relationships with both existing and new customers, market pricing strategies, inventory management procedures and branded program understanding and territory participation
• Observes competitive activities; new investments, promotions, pricing
• Seeks out and analyzes new customers and market expansion opportunities with a focus on the branded marketing opportunities
• Develops an understanding of the market factors affecting the profitability of branded marketing.
• Gathers and communicates market intelligence to branded pricing functions, through frequent contact with customers, industry counterparts, and industry information sources
• Becomes knowledgeable concerning the physical and operational characteristics of the Valero products distribution system
• Develops an understanding of the market factors affecting the profitability of branded marketing and keeps informed of market intelligence and industry trends through frequent contact with customers, industry counterparts and industry information sources
• Evaluates any applicable capital/investment opportunities-upgrades, replacements, maintenance needs.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• 10 years of experience in refining and/or petroleum sales or relevant experience in sales or marketing to include brand management/construction, trading, or scheduling required.
• Experience in the refining and marketing business preferred.
• Able and willing to manage assigned territory sales operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays, as needed, required.
• Must be able and willing to travel about 25% of the time to manage and support assigned territory activity as required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
