Position Summary: The Nutrition Site Aide is responsible for assisting the Nutrition Site Coordinator with the day-to-day operations at the assign congregate dining location. The core goals include assisting with the packing and delivery process for the meals on wheels program and helping serve the congregate meal to consumers at the dining location using the appropriate portions and menu. Some of the responsibilities of the Nutrition Site Aide consist of serving as the primary back up to the Nutrition Site Coordinator, filling in on delivery routes as needed, and assisting the Nutrition Site Coordinator with any other duties. Skills that are needed for this position include communication skills, customer service skills and attention to detail.
Essential Functions: (Core duties or tasks that are fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job)
- Serves as the primary back up to the Site Coordinator and performs their duties in their absence including, but not limited to, the supervision of the Site Volunteers and HDM Drivers in conjunction with the Site Manager
- Serves as a back-up MOW Driver. The Site Aide should be familiar with all MOW Driver routes and the surrounding area(s) in the event they are needed to cover this function
- Assists Site Coordinator with the preparation of both Home Delivered Meals and Congregate Dining
- Recruits, as necessary, support staff and volunteers
- Executes AgeSpan's Meals on Wheels Not Home Policy for immediate follow up
- Performs all duties related to safety and cleanliness of meal sites and assure that all site help adheres to proper regulations regarding Food Handling Procedures
- Maintains appropriate contact with AgeSpan Nutrition department office staff and supervisors to report any relevant issues, caterer's errors, or shortages for immediate follow-up
- Attends staff meetings and completes all AgeSpan required training as needed
- Maintains the highest level of customer service standards at all times
- Communicates professionally and effectively with all clients, AgeSpan staff members, community representatives, family members and the public
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent Communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong attendance standards
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
