Title: IT Desktop/Network Support Specialist I (ITDNS-I)
Reports to: IT Director
Department: Administration-Accounting
Location: 5350 Machado Road Culver City, CA 90230
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $66,000 - $69,081 annually
Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, some evening and/or weekend work may be required.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Position Summary Setup and support a variety of computer hardware/software, networking, and associated peripheral; hardware/software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, updates/upgrades. Assists in managing and maintaining cloud-based services - Microsoft M365/Office365.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Respond to issues related to software, hardware, networking and email, system operation enquiries and other IT technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, referring more complex network issues to the IT Director. Test and evaluate client-side hardware/software configurations. Replace, update, and document hardware/software systems. Evaluate desktop applications/software patches. Maintains hardware/software inventory and assists in IT asset management.
- Provide support in the maintenance and administration of ECF computers, network, phones, security access controls, close circuit TV (CCTV), enterprise copiers and audio/video systems. Ensure computers are seamlessly connected to various systems including related validation systems, file servers, email servers and desktops. Provide support to internal and cloud-based application systems (M365/Office365). Troubleshoots network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment. Performs security updates and system backups.
- Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues on various computers, networks, telecommunication and other office systems.
- Provide introductory training and support on new hardware and software to end-users.
- Issue computers, laptops, tablets, printers, key fobs and other office equipment. Maintain documentation of same.
- Provide assistance to IT Director.
- Follow standards and procedures of the IT Department.
Other Duties - Comply with ECF's Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment.
- Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required for this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other computer related field. Certification in Operating Systems, Office Applications and Network Systems.
Experience: Four years in an enterprise environment.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: - Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Applications (Windows 7, 10, 11; Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2019; Office Suites 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019; and other systems applications).
- Ability to install and administer Windows Domain Servers, Active Directory, Terminal Services, Remote Access, Exchange Server 2013/2016, MS SQL; RDBMS, Anti-Virus, Symantec Endpoint Security, Veritas System Backup, M365, Office365 and OneDrive.
- Knowledge of telecommunications, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, SMTP, SSL, Firewall Gateways, Routers, Wireless, VoIP, CCTV/IP Camera, Security Access Control, A/V systems and Internet technologies.
- Skilled in PC assembly, broad functional knowledge of printers, laptop, and desktop computer hardware.
- Ability to keep up with new hardware/software, cloud-based systems and telecommunication technology.
- Work well as part of a team, strong learning capability, and commit to self-development.
Requirements - Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, evidence of car insurance, and insurable driving record.
- Pass a DOJ background investigation and pre-employment physical.
- Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially and every three years thereafter.
Work Environment Work site is located in a building shared with a school for students (grades K-12th) who have varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Employee may encounter students who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress, or behaving in an aggressive manner. The environment may include frequent interruptions, loud noise, odors, varying indoor temperature, and drafts. Exposure to varying outdoor temperature and weather when traveling to various sites.
