Job description

We are looking for an experienced Planner / Scheduler – Machine Shop for a world-leading designer and manufacturer of automatic control valves located in Costa Mesa, CA.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, monitors, and reports status of machine shop dispatch, ensures adequate loading of machines, reviews work order delays, monitors flow of machined part production, optimizes schedule for sales order improvements; performs other related duties as assigned.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides status and daily feedback on Machine Shop priorities and high visibility customer orders.
- Ensures adequate daily loading of machines based on current available capacity
- Processes rework requirements for non-conforming parts.
- Organizes flow of paperwork and part travel through machining process
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of systematic movement of parts– report findings to a systems team member.
- Reviews and resolves notes in company quality and labor systems for all machine shop work centers.
- Handles job order splitting when required.
- Handles stalled job review and resolution management.
- Optimizes machine loading by ensuring sufficient supply of purchased and upstream manufactured materials.
- Expedites material receipts through receiving inspection if/when necessary.
- Reports execution to daily machine shop, programming, and tool setter work centers dispatch schedules.
- Monitors machine shop expedites.
- Prioritizes late work orders.
Experience/Training/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience, and minimum of three years’ experience in production control methods, scheduling and manufacturing processes required.
- Experience with, and a demonstrable knowledge of, ERP/MRP system(s).
- Proven experience in a planning role and experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to machined products is preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of production management and material control system applications and software programs.
- Knowledge of expediting methods and techniques.
- Ability to monitor and coordinate assignment of assigned sales orders to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation: $20 - $22 hr., DOE.VITESSE 30 Corporate Park, Suite 106, Irvine, CA 92606
