We're currently searching for an Associate Director for Student Conduct- Gender-based Violence and Abusive Conduct Adjudication. As the Associate Director for Student Conduct, this position will serve as the Gender-Based Violence and Abusive Conduct Adjudication Specialist for the Office of Student Conduct. This role will be to serve as the primary university decision-maker and hearing officer for most, if not all, cases that involve cases investigated and referred by the Title IX Coordinator alongside another student conduct professionals. Additionally, they will adjudicate / coordinate cases identified as potential abusive conduct and hazing policy violations. Finally, they will assist with the adjudication of other student conduct cases, issue and follow up on potential no contact order requests, and partner with other university offices to carry out the mission of the office of student conduct.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE
1) You'll be reporting to the Director of Student Conduct in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
2) You'll be championing a fair and equitable student conduct process responsible for adjudicating cases investigated and referred by the Title IX Coordinator alongside another student conduct professional.
3) You'll adjudicate and coordinate cases identified as potential abusive conduct and hazing policy violations that are referred to Student Conduct.
4) You'll assist with the adjudication of other student conduct cases, issue and follow up on potential no contact order requests, and partner with other university offices to carry out the mission of the office of student conduct.
5) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $85,000-$90,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• An advanced degree beyond a Bachelor's degree and progressive experience in a related field is required, which could include higher education, public health, social work, counseling, or areas related to well-being, diversity and inclusion, etc.
• Strong analytical writing skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of issues related to sexual assault, domestic violence, harassment, and stalking
• A clear understanding of Title IX, related compliance issues and due process.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work discreetly with sensitive information.
• Excellent written and oral communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to build rapport, work collaboratively with, and navigate complex issues across constituencies on and off campus, including students, faculty, and staff
Preferred Qualifications
• A terminal degree (e.g. Juris Doctor, Doctoral degree in higher education administration, human resources, criminal justice or a related field.)
• Previous experience working in a college or university setting preferred.
• Understanding of Maxient or comparable case management software system.
• Demonstrated experience as a conduct hearing officer or Professional experience conducting investigations in a higher education, non-profit, or other relevant setting.
• Formal Title IX related training or certification through a nationally recognized organization.
• Demonstrated experience in adjudicating gender-based misconduct or conducting investigations and interpreting and applying policy.
• Experience related to Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, and/or other federal or state laws regarding civil rights.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of investigations, including trauma-informed investigative techniques.
• Knowledge and experience related to hazing on college campuses.
• Experience with case-management or similar administrative processes.
