Pay Rate: Compensation: The starting annual base salary range for this position is $55,800 to $70,000 (USD).

Position Summary and Responsibilities The Academic Computing Consultant for the Sciences is an educational technologist who works in collaboration with members of the faculty, the library, and the IT staff to plan for, provide and support the growing need for academic technologies in math and sciences.
The successful candidate will be a member of a team of academic technology consultants, who will:
- advise and collaborate with faculty members, colleagues and students in the design and implementation of instructional and research projects;
- identify opportunities for the use of educational technologies;
- take initiative to seek out and share up-to-date knowledge about educational technology across the disciplines;
- offer training, documentation, and general computing support to faculty;
- demonstrate software use by designing and presenting workshops;
- recommend appropriate hardware and software to meet academic needs;
- facilitate student access to campus computing resources;
Qualifications - Bachelors degree or comparable experience is required. Experience in teaching or as an educational technology professional is a plus.
- Experience with Macintosh and Windows hardware and software used in academic settings. Some knowledge of Linux is a plus, as is knowledge of software used in math and science disciplines
- Self-motivated, with a keen sense of responsibility and flexibility.
- Excellent technical skills are essential, as are strong oral and written communications skills, the ability to manage projects involving student employees and work effectively in time-constrained situations, and to partner with faculty members on collaborative projects.
- Actively track emerging trends in pedagogy and technology and keep up to date through professional development activities.
