Job description
Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a per-diem Security Officer I for the Security Department at Morristown Medical Center to work 8am – 4pm including weekends.
0-3 years of prior experience – HS Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. All legally/reasonably expected certifications needed for function and level. Work assignments are straight-forward and of moderate complexity. Makes decisions regarding own work, approach, and priorities. Typically receives detailed instructions on work, approach and priorities. No leadership responsibility.
- Welcomes all visitors and employees entering the facility.
- Conducts security checks on all visitors and notifies employees of their arrival.
- Ensures all employees check in using their assigned company badge/security card. Assists employees who do not have or have lost their badge.
- Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.
- Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.
- Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
- After business hours, may checks doors and windows, to ensure the property is secure.
- Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
- Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
- Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications –
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- High School Diploma plus Military, extensive Law Enforcement or Security experience will be considered in lieu of Degree.
- CPR/AED and First Aid preferred.
- Prior Security experience, former military and law enforcement candidates preferred.
- Security guard training certification preferred.
- Valid Driving License with a clean record required
