Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Associate I for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. Reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator, the Program Associate I of Hudson County will lead a 5-year grant-funded program, Preparing the Next Generation of Urban Food and Agriculture Changemakers (Changemakers) . Leadership of these projects involves teaching youth research-based, experiential educational activities and lessons that help youth develop life skills. For the Changemakers program, the candidate will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of program members (teen and community partners), coordinating meetings, and planning professional development and field trips for teens.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Takes major responsibility for coordination of curriculum, training and program support for all sites.
• Serves as the liaison for program evaluation efforts with county staff, as well as coordinate and implement annual training and state-level leadership opportunities for teens.
• Supports volunteers and assist program staff in the delivery of educational outreach, growth and development of community garden projects and maintaining partnerships with organizations in the community.
• Maintains a professional demeanor.
• This grant funded position is contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, youth development, or related STEM field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Two years related professional experience.

Equipment Utilized:

• Computer, printer, and related software including but not limited to.
• Microsoft Office suite and 4-HOnline in collaboration with ES237 reporting system.
• Email for communications and research, locally and nationally.
• Equipment related to teaching (laptop, LCD projector, etc.).
• Working knowledge of current and changing electronic technology.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to carry demonstration supplies, presentation equipment, and class materials.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to travel to a variety of job locations (ie office, schools, community agencies).

Salary: $55,416
