Job description
About the Position:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the purchasing process, from order placement to goods receipt and supplier issue resolution. This role requires strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and place orders with suppliers according to departmental and company needs.
- Track pending orders, ensuring timely delivery and quality of requested products.
- Receive incoming merchandise using computer systems and generate self-invoices for precise record-keeping.
- Monitor product prices and manage receipt of supplier invoices.
- Collaborate on month-end closure and the preparation of purchasing-related provisions.
- Address supplier complaints promptly and effectively, striving for resolution.
- Keep pricing rates updated in the company's management system.
- Calculate standard costs monthly for tracking and analysis.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in the purchasing process.
- Process supplier non-conformities and oversee follow-up procedures.
- Manage documentation required for quality audits, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in purchasing, administration, or related fields preferred.
- Previous experience in purchasing roles, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Solid knowledge of computer systems and experience with management software.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive attitude and ability to resolve problems efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of quality audit processes is advantageous.
