West Chester Township has a need to fill the position of Risk Management and Training Bureau Chief. The successful candidate must possess a proven record of integrity and the leadership, management and interpersonal skills to inspire, motivate, guide, direct and challenge all department staff to achieve organizational goals.
The position will be responsible for the overall oversight of the Risk Management and Training Bureau. Which includes and is not limited to, developing and managing department professional development and training, safety programs; maintaining department training records; supervising instructors; providing instruction developing training and safety procedures as well as, all other phases of the Department as directed by the Fire Chief through specific assignments and instructions regarding department policies, programs and objectives. The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $112,000.
Required Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible full-time Fire/EMS service experience, with 5 or more years of permanent assignment as a company officer and/or demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities commensurate with the position, and the following State of Ohio certifications: Firefighter Level II, EMT-Paramedic, Fire Life Safety Inspector, Hazardous Materials Technician, Public Safety Instructor, National Fire Academy’s Fire and Emergency Services Training Program Management, Incident Safety Officer , Blue Card Incident Command Certification, or ability to obtain within 24 months, and a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s and or Bachelor Degree in Fire Science, Business Administration or related field including but not limited to: Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Management , Public Administration or Emergency Management. Fire Officer I & II, and Hazardous Materials Incident Safety Officer.
