Job description


Key to the success of the department’s business practices is the effective delivery of transportation programs and projects. The Final Project Coordination (FPC) review is the last milestone review of the plan and proposal package prior to project submittal for advertising. This position is the statewide specialist responsible for all in-house and consultant trunkline road projects and providing the MDOT Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Omissions and Errors Checks sign off prior to submittal of advertising for advertising and letting. This is the final MDOT QA/QC review, for all MDOT projects, before advertising and awarding the construction contract. The purpose of the FPC meeting is to review the entire plan/proposal package for omissions/errors/conflicts/contradictions, etc. This position is also a backup for conducting inspections for road projects at the Base Plan and Plan Review milestones.

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Transportation Engineer Licensed Specialist 13 position.

Education
Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.

Experience
Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Transportation Engineer Licensed 12.

Possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan.

Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
