POSITION SUMMARY The Marketing Accounting team is part of the R&M Operations Accounting department within the Controller’s organization, with responsibilities that include providing support for the Brand Marketing and Direct Dealer business. The successful candidate will need to be a self-starting and driven individual, with strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will work with a variety of stakeholders that could include MPC customers, operations personnel, and various other organizations as they complete their roles and responsibilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES + Review and identify key components of Brand Marketing and Direct Dealer contracts that vary in degree and complexity + Administer rebates and shortfalls for Brand Marketing and Direct Dealer Incentive Agreements + Prepare rebate accrual entries + Prepare post-rebate reports for Brand Marketing and Direct Dealer + Support and account for Brand Loyalty Programs + Conduct self-audits for entry of data elements from Marketing contracts into ERP module + Support Marketing by responding to various information requests + Complete monthly closeout activities within scheduled timelines + Troubleshoot issues encountered with system applications or business processes + Partner with others to identify and implement process efficiencies EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE + Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in accounting or finance + 2-5 years of relevant experience + Oil and gas industry experience preferred SKILLS + Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Sound decision making skills + Effective interpersonal and leadership skills + Advanced in use of Excel and Word and have the aptitude to effectively learn company-specific accounting systems + Excellent verbal and written communication skills As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
