DLS is looking for a talented and passionate Bone Marrow Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Donor Management team. As an Bone Marrow Nurse Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role delivering direct care to paid donors undergoing bone marrow collections in an outpatient setting. A Day in the Life of an Bone Marrow Nurse Practitioner at Discovery Life Sciences:

• Provide quality care to donors
• Record appropriate documentation
• Be alert for adverse effects
• Provide education to donors during the bone barrow collection process

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

• Graduate of Accredited school for Nurse Practitioner, or Doctor of Medicine
• Current MD, or NP licensing in the state of Alabama, California or Massachusetts
• BLS Certification
• Weekday availability, minimum of 2 days/week (Tuesday Required, Potential Thursdays)
• Excellent customer service and communications skills
• Proficient in bone marrow aspiration
• Knowledge of cellular therapy a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bone marrow aspirations on healthy donors
• Obtain informed consent from prospective donors
• Perform physical examinations upon prospective donors to determine their suitability for mobilized apheresis procedures, clinical grade procedures and/or adverse reactions to collections
• Provide donor education on side effects of medications given during mobilized apheresis procedure.
• Answer questions posed by donors and prospective donors about the procedures to be performed, risks associated with the performance of such procedures, and consents
• Review and sign orders for mobilized or clinical grade apheresis donors
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
• Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.

Location and work hours:

• 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Minimum of 2 days a week (Tuesday Required, potential Thursdays)
