Lebanon-Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist
Luthercare is currently seeking a Staff Development Coordinator for ourSpang Crest Healthcare Center in Lebanon, PA. Assists the Director of Nursing with the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Plans, directs and conducts nursing activities to include staff development and quality assurance.

What you need:
- Current Licensure as a PA Registered Nurse.
- Two (2) years experience providing direct patient care to the geriatric population.
- Two (2) years demonstrating knowledge of the principles/practices of organizing, directing and supervising nursing staff.
What you'll do:
- Provides weekly/periodic audits as assigned, including but not limited to environmental audits, staffing concern audits, etc. Dedicates time to provide on-the-floor observation in the healthcare center while conducting as needed and routine rounds of the healthcare center to assess compliance with regulations. Troubleshoots areas of possible concern to avoid problematic issues. Is pro-active in dealing with identified problem areas. Redirects rather than sympathize with staff. Promotes the healthcare center’s community image.
- Identifies, executes and communicates training needs with the Director of Nursing.
- Provides center orientation to all new employees. Coordinates and conducts in-service education for all applicable staff. Plans, develops and executes clinical competency evaluations for nursing staff. Represents the organization for educational purposes on various committees and groups and ensures proper communication and application of information as appropriate.
- Completes monthly summary of in-service and training compliance and reports results to the Director of Nursing. Provides flexibility in own schedule to ensure the training and competency needs of the healthcare center are met in a timely fashion. Assists the Director of Nursing and the Assistant Director of Nursing to develop an action plan to correct non-compliance.
- Participates in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process as assigned.
- Tracks medication errors and applies the Medication Error Protocol by educating staff as appropriate. Alerts the Director of Nursing when disciplinary action is called for under the Medication Error Protocol.
