Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Stf Pharm1 or Stf Pharm2. Less than four (4) years experience qualifies as Stf Pharm1; Four (4) + years of experience qualifies as Stf Pharm2.

DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, the Specialty Staff HIV PrEP Pharmacist is responsible for provision and documentation of HIV PrEP medications and medication-related services to patients according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. This position will be directly counseling patients on the proper use and management of HIV PrEP medications and will be working with Owen Clinic and Primary Care Providers to enhance the safety and efficacy of the HIV PrEP Primary Care Program. This position will also be working under a collaborative practice agreement, which will be monitored and regulated by HIV treating physicians. Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.

Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability. Must be able to work variable shifts to include weekends, holidays and overtime as required. Must be willing to rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites. Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy state and federal regulations; interpersonal and customer service skills; supervisory skills to include workload management; ability to operate computer systems; demonstrate teaching skills and writing skills. Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences. Work with the physicians and the pharmacy billers to provide justification for obtaining authorization for medications.

Annual Full Pay Range: $174,390 - $196,356 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $83.52 - $94.04
