Job description
Title: Sr. Software Engineer (Privacy and Security)
Length of Contract: 6-12 months to contract to hire.
Hours: 40 hours per week/8 hours per day
Location: Must be on-site in Palo Alto, CA or NYC
Background Check and Drug Screen : Both Required
In your role as Sr. Software Engineer, you will:
- Work directly with the Head of Software, engineers, product managers, and key data security stakeholders to design and implement solutions that can scale with the business growth of
our company
- Build the forward-looking vision and lead the effort to ensure the entire development lifecycle takes a privacy first approach and builds customer and regulatory trust in our product.
- Define and articulate a clear vision for privacy, and influence leaders across all systems to adopt a balanced view of product and privacy goals.
- Conduct technical reviews for new features and identify privacy concerns.
- Advocate for privacy decisions, designs, and discussions. They facilitate the development and implementation of data protection requirements into our products, services and operation.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a privacy related field - security engineering, data engineering, data scientist, compliance engineering etc.
- NodeJS, TypeScript
- API Descriptor specifications, such as Protocol Buffers, GraphQL, OpenAPI
- System architecture design experience
- Must have product-based security experience
Preferred Qualifications
- CS or Engineering Degree
- Experience with GDPR, California regulations (CCPA) and other global regulations when it comes to security and privacy.
- System architecture design experience
- Implementation of architecture for Security
- Extensive knowledge and skills in data science and information security for cloud and IoT devices.
- Entrepreneurial experience in a high growth technology focused company or startup
- Experience in data science (including ML algorithm implementation)
- Experience with software products in the health and wellness industry.
