About the Role:
As the Vehicle Engineer/Architect, you will support the technical execution of all activities associated with system development, build, test and evaluation to ensure operational and performance requirements are satisfied and ensure the maturation and successful transition of the system from development through production and fielding within budget and schedule parameters. The Vehicle Engineer/Architect will support, and act in alignment with the Chief Engineer and the Product Manager as the technical design authority, providing direction and guidance to a multi-disciplined team of Systems and Design Engineers through all phases of the program with a spirit of creativity, innovation, quality and continuous improvement. As part of the technical leadership team of the StrykerX program, you will enable GDLS to successfully capture, execute, and grow US-based programs of record, and also position this set of emerging technologies to compete and grow in international markets.
This is a Hybrid role, comprising of 80% in office work and 20% remote.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for This Role:
- The Vehicle Engineer/Architect is responsible for supporting the Chief Engineer activities for StrykerX Subsystems and vehicle development.
- Provide engineering multi-domain and subject matter program/technical expertise to critical technical decisions for the systems.
- Conceptualize new product solutions and their emergence from concept through design release, build, and test.
- Coordinate technical oversight to balance technical scope, performance, and quality with schedule and cost objectives under Chief Engineer guidance.
- Support balanced architecture and system design decisions, oversee trades and analyses on key performance parameters, and lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
- Provide technical guidance to teams of matrixed resources to deliver engineering design, verification, production, and support products for the system.
- Serve as the supporting principal engineering point of contact on technical matters for external Customers, internal Customers and other Product/Process Centers.
- Influence the planning, execution, and strategy for key programs/tasks to achieve customer objectives across the portfolio of Stryker Family of Vehicles (3 - 5-year strategic plans and technology roadmaps, and the intersection of customer-funded and GDLS/internal investment)
- Represent the project and Future Systems department as the lead technical expert to senior GDLS leadership and our global clients.
Qualifications Sought:
- Bachelors in electrical engineering or computer science preferred; Other engineering degrees will be considered
- Experience with software and/or LRU development a plus
- A minimum of 7 years of related experience
- Strong interest and enthusiasm for emerging technology, to include but not limited to, hybrid electric drive, autonomy and AI.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience engaging w/ internal and external customer leaders.
- Demonstrated creativity / innovation.
- Desire to lead and learn with a spirit of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to obtain Security clearance (must be a U.S. Person, i.e., a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
- Occasionally must lift and carry equipment weighing 30 lbs
