Job description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Clinical Social Worker for the Division of HIV and STD Program - Disease Control Bureau. The Clinical Social Worker will serves as part of the Specialized Investigation Team and provides support to the Clinical Field Team activities as needed. The position works with the Manager of Direct Community Services, the DHSP Public Health Investigators and the DHSP Public Health Nurses to provide clinical social work services to clients presenting difficult medical and related psychosocial problems. The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 6/30/2024 with potential extension. Pay Rate- $49.63/hr Benefits : Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Time, PTO Healthcare Employer Fully Funded Healthcare (Anthem Blue Cross), Dental and Vision, Life Insurance from Initial Start Date. Shifts: Onsite at clients Los Angeles, CA Office Monday - Friday and occasional evening/weekends with prior notification Work Site: Day to day assignments may be in variety of locations in LA County; Headquarters at the DHSP office,600 South Commonwealth Ave. Please note , this is field-based position and therefore the individual must be willing and able to respond to requests for urgent and timely services and be able to commute to any part of Los Angeles County which may include and not limited to the use of the Divisions vehicles and mobile unit. Job Duties Conducts psychosocial assessments and linkage to mental health and other social services for clients presenting difficult medical and related psychosocial problems to engage them in care. Participates in outreach activities to reach highly vulnerable clients in non-clinical settings at risk of or experiencing syphilis. Contributes to multi-disciplinary team case conference reviews and shares findings and lessons learned to improve overall client care plans and programmatic response. Makes referrals to, coordinates, and utilizes community resources/agencies, other professional disciplines, and County departments to provide services in accordance with the patient treatment plan. Develops and implements a social work treatment plan based upon an analysis of the patient's psychosocial factors and medical illness. Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education including supervised clinical social work fieldwork experience - OR - A Master's Degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and one year of experience in medical, psychiatric, family, or child welfare social work involving problems of medical, mental, or emotional adjustment. A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-relate Desirable Qualifications: • LICENSE: A valid, current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or registration in good standing as an Associate Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences within six (6) months of employment. Associate Clinical Social Workers must remain in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences for the duration of the waivers permitted by law, not to exceed six years.Spanish speaking skills desirable, but not required. • Excellent communication (oral/written) skills. • Ability to work well with all levels of professional staff, clients, and other medical providers. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine workloads and priorities. • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively and independently.
