Job description
We are currently looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer for one of our automotive clients in Newmarket, ON region.
Responsibilities:
Apply supplier survey criteria consistently and fairly, providing ratings and reports to maintain a standardized structure.
Stress the application of statistical techniques in the supply base, aiming for data inclusion with shipments and the elimination of receiving inspections.
Conduct on-site supplier quality process audits and generate corresponding reports.
Collaborate with high-risk suppliers to implement corrective actions and enhance unacceptable performance.
Monitor and follow up on supplier corrective actions through the DMN system.
Analyze and report defects in purchased parts, updating the supplier performance website on a monthly basis.
Contribute to the APQP team by determining the status of supplier components, especially key and high-impact product characteristics, and communicate these findings in launch meetings.
Review and approve supplier Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) for compliance with part drawings and engineering specifications.
Ensure compliance with annual validation and special processes certification requirements, such as CQI Audits, by following up with suppliers.
Visit non-conforming suppliers to assess the permanent implementation of corrective measures and validate process parameters.
Qualifications:
Hold a college or university diploma in an engineering-related discipline (e.g., engineer, technologist, or technician).
Possess CQE, CQT, CQA certificates, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Previous experience in Automotive Quality, Supplier Development, and Process Engineering is advantageous.
Knowledge in various manufacturing processes, including balljoint assembly, casting, CNC machining, forging, plastic injection molding, rubber injection molding, stamping, and welding.
Proficient in SPC, problem-solving techniques, and capacity analysis.
