Delaware North Gaming is searching for an Assistant Cage Manager to join our team at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. As an Assistant Cage Manager, you will be assisting in the supervision of all Cage Operations, ensuring compliance by team members with all regulations and procedures during shift. You will also be staying up to date with current trends within the gaming industry that could impact the facility and the cage operation. Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a Delaware North-owned-and-operated regional gaming destination featuring 1,300 electronic gaming machines, 22 table games, live greyhound racing, and simulcast wagering. Wheeling Island also features a 151-room hotel, many dining options, and a 1,000-seat showroom.
- Ensure adherence to all state gaming regulations and procedures, as well as assist identifying and creating cage-related operating policies and procedures
- Schedule all shifts for the cage team members, under the supervision of the Cage Manager, assist in the management of the main bank, cage cashiers, drop and count operations, and direct all cage staff, including cage cashiers, main bankers, drop and count team members during shift
- Train team members on current procedures and regulations, ensuring compliance with corporate mandatory trainings
- Assisting cage manager in hiring, counseling, and termination of cage team members
- Skilfully deal with guest complaints, using active listening skills to control difficult situations, and maintain guest goodwill
- 2+ years of experience in cash handling and 1-2 years of supervisory experience
- Able to obtain and maintain a state gaming license
- Intermediate computer skills, including e-mail, word, excel spreadsheets, data input, and record keeping, as well as basic Math skills, addition, and subtraction to handle large money transactions
- Hours are varible and will require weekends, holidays, and swing shift work
