Summary Objective
The Site Director is responsible for all activities and business operations at the site by working closely with the functional leaders within the market. The role should also effectively coordinate the relevant activities within Operations, Engineering and Sales functions at the site. Delivering sustainable profitable growth and a financial performance as per the company OKRs including both financial and operational excellence targets will be the key deliverables for this position. This will be achieved by the effective implementation of the wider General Industry strategy at the site.
Responsibilities
- Drive/implement the site strategy process
- Achieve site and team targets contributing to company OKRs
- Deliver the profitability and growth per set targets
- Establish and deploy the resource plan needed to achieve targets
- Build a culture of ongoing improvement
- Deploy DPS/Agility in line with the global requirements
- Deploy best-in-class practices for the production process of the site
- Provide regular reports to the organizations as per established operating mode
- Keep all relevant stakeholders informed about the business plans and their progress
- Validate the site forecast
- Ensure site compliance in view of EHS, quality standards, labor law, internal guidelines, and regulations
- Deliver the logistics and quality performance as per customer requirements
- Approve cost calculations and strategic pricing for open opportunities
- Represent the company in relationship with unions, authorities, and regulatory bodies
- Approve as per DOAs hiring, investments, purchases, quotes, etc..
- Deliver on-time product launch and investment realization projects in close cooperation with all stakeholders
- Act as a crisis manager for the key emergencies or designate the appropriate crisis manager
- Lead and coach site team in their areas of responsibility
- Create a self-learning environment where employees can reach their full potential
- Ensure industry leading engagement score of the site team.
Deployment OE/DPS/Agility:
- Together with the regional functional operations leadership of GI, promote and deploy the DPS/OE and Agility programmes at the site
- Improve on operational excellence and the maturity level of DPS
- Apply DPS continuous improvement for cost optimisation/control, reduction of waste and to improve OE
People Development:
- Lead, coach and mentor the team to live the Datwyler values, embrace the leadership culture and improve employee satisfaction
- Use the talent development tools to enhance skill levels, identify and coach talent
- Ensure a talent pipeline for the site is in place by working together with regional HR leadership team members
- Foster a diverse and engaged working environment, working within labour legislation and health and safety guidelines at all times
- Be responsible for compliance with labour/employment, environmental and social regulations and laws as well as ensuring adherence to Datwyler internal guidelines
Key Success Factors
- Successful execution of key initiatives linked to the strategic development of the BU in the Americas
- Delivery of the growth in profitability of the site as per the strategic plan and regular forecasts
- Continuously improve engagement levels at the site as measured in the employee surveys
- Delivery of complex ad hoc projects as required
- Achieve site and team targets related to relevant OKRs
- Drive the sustainability agenda and contribute to companywide objectives
Your Profile
- Bachelors or Masters degree in an engineering discipline and/or in Business Management (e.g. MBA)
- Minimum 10 years experience in general management, commercial or operational roles
- Experience in driving change management
- Track record of delivering balanced sales growth, operational improvements and complex projects
- Self-confident and a can do attitude, with excellent analytical skills
- Make decisions based on data
- High level of communication skills and empathy
- Able to work with diverse and international teams
