Job description
Indianapolis food processing/packaging facility seeks a Utilities/Facilities Manager that will have overall responsibility for operation and maintenance of all utility systems as well as maintenance of the facility and grounds.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes and practices safety and conducts him/herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all times without compromise.
- Experienced with and in-depth knowledge of utility systems such as air compressors, water systems (RO, Soft, Domestic), HVAC, and with special emphasis on Chillers and Boilers.
- Ensures efficient, reliable utility supply to the production lines.
- Displays initiative to lead efforts to improve productivity. Develops and oversees execution of an effective routine preventive maintenance program.
- Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct fault by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Knowledge of mechanical power transfer systems such as gear reducers, chain/belt drives, direct drives, bearings, shafts, and couplings
- Knowledge of 480-volt three phase power distribution such as transformers, Motor Control Centers, power panels
- Basic knowledge of 120 and 24-volt discrete control and 4-20mA analog control systems
- Knowledge and experience with pneumatic operated control valve actuators and solenoid devices
- General understanding of building repair methods: carpentry, painting, and drywall
- Strong technical, managerial and leadership skills to build teams and to implement sustainable processes.
- Responsible for ordering parts and managing contractors for utilities and facilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial maintenance, or related field, required
- 5 years’ experience in building maintenance, utility maintenance and operation
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on troubleshooting, process improvement, instrumentation calibration and preventive maintenance.
- HVAC Universal License required.
- Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance, TPM and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office
- Experience driving accountability with vendors and contractors.
