ACCREDITATION MANAGER

(Program Specialist III)

The pay range for this position is $24.90 - $33.47 per hour

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Fire Marshal's Office has a part time vacancy for Program Specialist III, SOC Title 13-1040 COMPLIANCE OFFICERS-4. This is a part time position and must not exceed 29.5 hours per work week.

SUMMARY: To analyze and interpret data, policies and procedures of the Division of Fire Safety/State Fire Marshal’s Office to ensure compliance with recognized standards of performance of the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission and/or the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (C.A.L.E.A.).

18 Months or 1.5 Years of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months or 3 Years of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

54 Months or 4.5 Years of additional relevant experience = Master's degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in business or public administration, criminal justice or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Four years’ of professional or paraprofessional experience in business or public administration, law enforcement, quality assurance, quality control, compliance or related field, with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of documentation processes of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (C.A.L.E.A.).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check in addition to a fingerprint-based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews, analyzes, and maintains Division Policy and Procedure Manuals, and drafts or modifies as needed for changes in accreditation standards or legal requirements. Oversees, maintains, and updates accreditation compliance files and ensure changes are communicated to Division personnel.

Acts as liaison between Accreditation Commissions and the Division to evaluate new and amended standards and to make recommendations to Division leadership on developing and implementing efficient strategies to best satisfy accreditation requirements.

Reviews General Orders, as requested, and provides updated General Orders to employees via training module, e-mail, and/or hard copy and ensures all written directives are uploaded to Division’s shared drive.

Compiles, edits, and coordinates publishing of the Division’s accreditation annual report, Re-Accreditation, and Comprehensive Accreditation Plan, including divisional reports on yearly highlights.

Assesses and recommends corrections and improvements to the quality assurance system based on observations, measuring efficiency and compliance with accreditation standards. Prepares reports for Unit Commander and accrediting body as needed.

Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-video materials to become and remain current on the principles, practices and new developments in assigned work areas.
