WHAT DOES THE POSITION ENTAIL?
The Engineering Technician coordinates and completes the work for field and instrumentation projects within the area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
As an Engineering Technician, the individual works under the technical and administrative supervision of a Project Manager or their designated representative. He/she may work under the technical supervision of a Senior Project Manager or Principal Engineer. He/she will receive technical guidance on all engineering projects and direction for all field services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering Technician will provide planning, drafting, and technical support to the engineering staff. The Engineering Technician will also provide supplemental and technical support for the drilling, laboratory, and CMT departments.
Assignments are primarily in the States of Louisiana and Mississippi with some other out-of-state assignments. Assignments may require overtime, weekend, and out-of-town assignments. Frequently, duties are performed concurrently at several job sites and occasionally at sites of considerable distance from each other. The Engineering Technician must have an appropriate motor vehicle operation license for employment.
Specific responsibilities include the following.
This individual will also be required to undergo first aid and various levels/types of safety training.
First aid and CPR training will be provided if required. Other training, such as International Code Council (ICC) or National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), may be required in addition to the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWICTM) Card. Site specific safety training may be required for plant entry.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering Technician works under the technical and administrative supervision of a Project Manager. The Project Manager and/or Project Engineer screens assignments and selects techniques and procedures to be used on field testing and instrumentation projects.
The Engineering Technician maTry be required to directly supervise employees and/or subcontract employees performing field services on his/her project. He/she carries out supervisory responsibilities, in conjunction with the supervising Project Manager, and in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The Engineering Technician should have, as a minimum, a high school diploma or general education degree, and three to six months of higher education or field testing experience. Education or experience in other technical or related fields will be evaluated.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of internet software as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Valid state issued driver license.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. While outdoors, the employee is subject to mud, dirt, cuts, abrasions, strains, snake and insect bites, and poisonous plants.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud depending upon job location.
OTHER INFORMATION
As an employee of Eustis Engineering, the Engineering Technician may be subjected to random drug and alcohol screening as part of our Alcohol and Drug Abuse Testing Program. An annual physical for medical monitoring may also be required. A pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check are required.
