Value Chain Cost Engineer ( Hybrid Contract Position )
12+ months Hybrid (MUST do 3 days/week onsite work from Day 1) at Peoria, IL office
Local/Driving distance to Peoria, IL or RELOCATE from Day 1 to Peoria, IL
ONLY USC/GC ( No H1B or any other EAD )
Skills/Experience needed:
- Ideal candidate has prior experience with cost reduction, specifically at Caterpillar and with the motor grader product and with LCP processes and specializes in cost reduction.
- 5+years of experience in a related field (will consider candidates with more experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (manufacturing, design, supply chain, etc.)
- *Will also consider candidates with Business and Marketing degrees with relevant experience.
- Engineering and manufacturing. Specifically as it relates to the value chain.
- Candidate should be able to read Caterpillar engineering drawings, understand technical requirements and functionality.
- Candidate is familiar with Caterpillar tools and processes, not limited to engineering drawings, cost accounting methodologies, purchasing and cost systems.
- Candidate is familiar with Caterpillar product.
- Candidate is familiar with LCP (Low-Cost Producer) methodology, specifically within Caterpillar.
- Communication candidate should be able to communicate across multiple workstreams (engineering, supply, manufacturing, finance), and across multiple subject matter.
- Communication should be tailored to the audience, to get the most out of the project teams.
- Self-starter, willing to have general areas of responsibility delegated to them. Understanding that as a delegate, responsibility often lies with them to determine the correct people or process to come to a recommendation.
