Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES Through these conversations, the representative must make decisions on the most impactful way to deliver this information so that the prospective student or applicant continues to choose UWG. Again, these conversations are very important and impactful on enrollment to the institution because a single interaction with a prospective student or even at a high school event could have lasting consequences on whether or not a student or group of students chooses to ultimately enroll in the university. This position's impact on new student enrollment leaves very little room for error and requires a representative to be ready to make hard decisions around both strategy and communication to prospective students largely unsupervised, since many of these decisions are made when they are in the community recruiting and away from their direct supervisor or support of their team. SKILLS In addition to being the first impression of the institution to prospective students and other outside constituents, the Admissions Representative is responsible for making strategic decisions around recruitment for their own personal territory; they formulate a specific plan for their recruitment territory and are responsible for deciding which recruitment practices to employ for that territory. These types of decisions can impact recruitment and enrollment for the institution, as the representative is making choices that could largely affect whether or not a specific student chooses our institution or whether or not a specific territory is marketed to in an effective way that helps to support our mission of increasing new student enrollment. Additionally, the Admissions Representative is responsible for delivering admissions decisions to our prospective applicants and counseling both applicants and inquiries on the admissions process.
