Job description


Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is seeking a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager to join the IDEA Office. The DEI Program Manager is responsible for advancing the initiatives, programs, and activities related to our IDEA strategic framework, specifically the action plans and day-to-day support of Berkeley Lab's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). This key position provides thought partnership, guidance, and support related to alignment, governance, communications, and budgets. The Program Manager also collaborates with partners and stakeholders, including senior leadership, ERG Executive Sponsors, Human Resources, Strategic Communications, Areas/Divisions, subject matter experts, and external organizations. The ideal candidate is consultative and collaborative, forward-thinking, solutions-focused and a creative problem-solver in driving program results.

The IDEA Office is responsible for developing and driving Berkeley Lab's strategy to advance inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability (IDEA) for our workforce, workplace, and the communities we serve and interact with. This strategy includes integrating and implementing IDEA principles and actions throughout the talent life cycle and institutional processes and practices, in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders. The IDEA Office serves as a thought leader with Berkeley Lab leaders and teams to sustain a culture of welcoming, belonging, and fairness where all employees are engaged and feel safe to be their authentic selves. This work requires an understanding of internal and external IDEA trends and best practices, and designing and deploying data-informed solutions.
