General Information: The JMU Audiology and Speech-Language Clinic is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant (average 20 hours per week) to provide front-office support to the clinic's operations. Located in the Health and Behavioral Studies building, the Audiology and Speech-Language Clinic provides exceptional hearing, speech, and language clinical services to adults and children with communication disorders in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, and the surrounding communities.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Data management in an electronic clinical records system
• Greet patients/clients and assist them with check in and check out
• Organize and schedule client/patient appointments by phone and email
• Receive, sort, and distribute the mail
• Data entry in Excel
• Complete file audits each semester on client files
• Organize billing documentation
• Maintain a check-out system for diagnostic tests and protocols
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel and Word
• Demonstrated aptitude for data management with a high level of accuracy
• Ability to quickly learn new software and office procedures
• Demonstrated aptitude for working with individuals of diverse populations including faculty, students, external clients and/or patients
• Excellent time management and data management skills are required
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with multiple customer bases
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Demonstrated ability to balance, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
Conditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to 20 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.
