As an HRBP, you will support your customers in the New Jersey geographic area, to shape and deploy the business goals as defined by the management team. You will also bring people management expertise to business decisions and strategies and secures and delivers HR interventions and programs to achieve business goals. As well, you will deploy the site People plan, including Organizational Capabilities, Talent Management, Labor and Employee Relations, Leadership development, and Building strong teams across the different steps of the Value Chain.
In your role you will:
- Analyze the current organizational capabilities to deliver the business strategy and will identify and act on gaps versus required capabilities;
- Change programs, Organizational effectiveness, and development, High-Performance Culture, Bids & Project support are in scope;
- Be responsible to support the Business Leaders in all talent activities to ensure the right talent in the right place at the right time. Coach leaders on using the talent-related tools, support elements, and how to act as "talent champion";
- Support talent reviews, competencies assessment, identification & mobilization of high potentials, performance management and improvement, action plan per individual, resources & succession planning, recruitment, orientation, exempt/nonexempt personal and redeployment of people;
- Administration of relted testing and qualification and job decriptions of all positions
- Support the development of leadership on-site, so that management deliver on their commitments, mobilize people and teams; and drive strategy while acting as per The Code of Ethics;
- Leverage good practice, share knowledge and experiences, avoid duplications but customize current tools and programs, connect with SSO to ensure this interface is efficient and effective;
- Ensure legal compliance with all local state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADAAA to minimize risk/exposure to the organization;
- Supports Labor and Employee relations within the business. Acts as 2nd chair negotiator and lead negotiator (as needed) for all labor contracts within the assigned business area including all pre, during, and post activities.
- Preperation of reports for customer, corporate office and various government agencies.
- Maintains employee files and employment claims properly documented
- Other duties as assigned
As our ideal candidate, you possess:
- Bachelor/Master (Economics, Law, Psychology, Social sciences, Administration, or a relevant field);
- Ideally, at least five (5) years of experience in a related industry, resolving complex employee relations issues with at least two (2) years of experience leading union relations activities, with a record of achievements. No management experience required;
- Certifications for Human Resources Professionals (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is an asset;
- Experience in HR and People Strategies, People Management;
- Prior experience acting in a lead negotiator role preferred;
- Experience in a Unionized enviroment required;
- Travel required, this position is expected to work on site.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
