A s the Rhinestahl Supplier Development Manager, you will Support, develop, and drive Rhinestahl strategic sourcing processes and initiatives with focus on maximizing supplier performance in Quality & Delivery and minimizing supplier risk while supporting reduction in total acquisition cost. Interface with Strategic Category Managers to support their strategies and work with suppliers that need to improve their performance in OTD and Quality.
- Interface with Quality and Strategic Category Managers, and other cross-functional team members to ensure our Vendors are capable of meeting Rhinestahl’s expectations
- Develop best practices in performance of supplier assessments/audits in support of the supplier selection process for Purchased Finished Goods, Direct Material sourcing, Aftermarket Services, and Outside services
- Develop and implement best practices in ongoing supplier evaluations via onsite and remote assessment of existing supplier processes, capacity, capability, management systems, engineering, supply management and other processes
- Participate in qualification, transition, and onboarding of direct material suppliers
- Evaluate and Improve processes and tools for measurement of supplier performance (Score carding) and for management and tracking of actions toward resolution of performance issues
- Lead supplier performance improvement initiatives, conduct supplier performance reviews, administer supplier scorecards, and participate in supplier business reviews
- Develop and administer supplier training in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, Rhinestahl’s process, and capacity measurement.
- Develop tools and opportunities for Supplier Development Engineer training in Supplier Performance Management best practices.
- Engage as a Supply Management liaison between various operations functions and suppliers and drive process improvement.
- Track and report Supplier Development project progress and results
- Assure compliance with ISO 9001, AS 9100, NADCAP, and other certifications
- Familiarity with DSQ
Education
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university Quality, Engineering or Supply Chain preferred.
- MBA a plus
Work Experience
- 5+ years related experience in Quality or Supplier Development / Supplier Quality.
- International experience a plus
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence at senior management level both internally and externally.
- Be able to use root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to resolve complex issues with other departments
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Technologies and Basic or Advanced knowledge of Production control methods
- Strong Results oriented with capability to execute and follow-through; Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with conflicting / changing priorities
- Ability to determine the natural thru put, recognize bottlenecks, potential stoppages, and devise improvements, and eliminate them with effective measures
- Supply Chain/Production control experience.
- Supplier development experience. Growing new supplier into a strategic partner
- Meets departmental goals, business plans and cost/commitments/achievements, using appropriate metrics and benchmarking.
- Domestic and global sourcing experience. Travel required (domestic and international); availability to travel 50% of the time
