Job description

An exciting IMMEDIATE job opportunity for a driven individual who has a proven track record of performance and desire to work for a well established organization. We are looking for an experienced Welding Fabrication Specialistfor a great service company located in Costa Mesa, CA.

1st Shift (5:00 am - 1:30 pm).

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs precision hand welding using MIG, TIG, and ARC equipment; works to close tolerances and certifies work as requested; and performs related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates Heliarc, ARC, and MIG welding machines in accordance with Fab Shop procedures and plant specifications;
• Follows blueprints, production drawings, production procedures, and instructions;
• Confers with various departmental representatives to verify engineering plans, drawings, and specifications;
• Performs hand burning and gas welding;
• Repairs welds and structural welds;
• Cleans shop and maintains work areas and equipment;
• Sets up, operates, and adjusts related production equipment, as needed, including hand brake, sheet metal shears, grinder, lathe, saw cutter, and hand tools;

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Able to operate all types of welding machines;
• Able to operate related production equipment including lathes, brakes, shears, saw cutters, and grinders;
• Considerable knowledge of all phases of welding including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding methods and processes;
• Able to read blueprints, layouts, and fittings;
• Able to communicate and work cooperatively with others;

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time; able to lift, move, and carry tools, supplies, and materials of up to 50 lbs;

Special Requirements:

• Requires safety shoes, appropriate clothing, and applicable government and company certification.

Compensation:$24.00 - $26.00per hour
