Our Laird Noller Hyundai Genesis dealership in Lawrence, Kansas, seeks a motivated and reliable parts dealership shop counter person to join our team. You will be responsible for selling parts to customers, coordinating with the service department, handling warranty claims and returns, and maintaining inventory levels.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED, and preferably some college education or certification in a related field
- Excellent communication, customer service, and sales skills
- A strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems
- Proficiency in using computer software and inventory systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Job Description,
An automotive dealership shop counter position is similar to an automotive parts counter position but with some additional responsibilities and skills. In addition to helping customers find the parts they need and processing payments and orders, a dealership shop counter person also:
- Works closely with the service department to coordinate parts delivery and installation.
- Handles warranty claims and returns for defective or damaged parts.
- Keeps track of special orders and backorders from the manufacturer or other suppliers
- Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with customers, technicians, and vendors.
- Stay updated on the latest products, features, and promotions the dealership and manufacturer offer.
To qualify for this position, you typically need a high school diploma or GED; some dealerships may prefer a college education or certification in a related field. You also need excellent communication, customer service, sales skills, and a strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems. You may receive on-the-job training to learn the dealership’s policies, procedures, inventory system, and computer software.
