Make a Difference
The Nurse Educator (RN) works closely with the Education Specialist, the Clinical Nurse Specialist and the Department's Nursing Manager/Director to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the educational needs of nursing staff at the unit/department level to enable staff to provide quality care for the unique patient population on that unit/department. This Nurse Educator role will have oversight into the training/education/development needs for the ICU & PCU’s department nursing staff at Community Howard Regional Health. This Nursing Educator role will need to maintain bedside nursing skills to support ICU & PCU needs as they arise. Community Howard Regional Health is a full-service hospital in Kokomo, Indiana, dedicated to providing exceptional quality, patient-centered care that’s close to home.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
Demonstration of performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of Community Health Network; demonstration of skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources.

•    Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.

•    Bachelor in Nursing degree (BSN required). If entering role without Bachelor's, must be within one (1) year of graduation with a Bachelor of Nursing (required).

•    Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

•    Minimum of three (3) years of ICU nursing experience required. Prefer strong precepting, education or leadership background.

•    Excellent relationship skills.  

•    Excellent precepting/mentoring skills.
