Survey Instrument Person ID 2023-6189 Job Locations US-DE-New Castle Category CoMET/CM/Field/Lab Position Type Regular Full-Time Step into Your New Role Century Engineering, a Kleinfelder company, is currently looking for a Survey Instrument Person to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying and civil engineering in our Newark, DE office. Applicant must be able to work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topographic, right-of way, transportation, and construction surveys. Responsibilities Will work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveys Perform mathematical calculations Willing and able to continually learn new techniques and processes as well as operate various types of equipment to become more efficient Assist other survey crews, if necessary Occasionally work with other disciplines as needed Frequently travel to various worksites Position Qualifications: 3 months to 2 years of experience in civil and transportation related surveying is preferred In lieu of experience, college level courses in surveying will be considered A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required Ability to work effectively with other technical professionals Ability to write legibly and convey technical information as well as the ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of co-workers, clients, and the public Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices The ability to obtain background clearances to permit working on-site for certain clients is required Physical Requirements: Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rugged, rural or urban surroundings Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances Required to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distances Must be able to work overtime as needed The ability to work outside, in all types of weather, is a requirement Move Forward with Kleinfelder Kleinfelder has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
