Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION : This position is responsible for assisting the Board in performance oversight of the school programs and controls by conducting audits and analyses.

REPORTS TO : Senior Director, Internal Audit
SALARY SCHEDULE : A-5
WORK DAYS : 250

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience, Skill, and Certification:

audit report development, and financial/management studies
audits of a complex nature
WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, PowerPoint, and other office-related
software packages

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides assistance to departmental personnel for the development of adequate
internal controls.
  1. Conducts performance audit to ensure the District's operations are functioning
effectively and efficiently in school and staff programs, systems, and
departments.
  1. Verifies reliability of data within the scope of audits.
  2. Reviews, examines, and reports on the internal control weaknesses and verifies
compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
  1. Ensures the Board's fiscal responsibilities to local, state, federal government, and
the District are met.
  1. Works closely and cooperatively with independent auditors hired by the Board to
ensure that legal obligations for sound fiscal controls have been met.
  1. Performs research on auditing principles and techniques.
  2. Reports areas of concern related to fiscal fraud or control activities management
to the Senior Director of Internal Auditing.
  1. Assists financial personnel in developing fiscal management procedures and
guidelines.
  1. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the GradeA-5 and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources. The work calendar will be 250 days, Exempt. Revised 09-2023
